Opened in 2018, West Lakes Golf & Villas is a Thomas Perrett designed, 18-hole championship golf course, located west of Ho Chi Minh City center. Thomas Perret is a design company that was founded by the legendary Australian professional golfer, Peter Thompson. From District 1, it takes an hour and a half to reach West Lakes Golf & Villas by car. The course is 7100 yards in length and features undulating fairways, clever bunkering and attractive lakes. The greens are grassed with TifEagle Bermuda and the fairways with Zeon Zoysia. The course is generally very well-maintained and the greens run fast. The front nine boast wide landing areas and fairways. The back nine is more interesting with some challenging holes that require golfers to patiently lay up short in places, in order to achieve good scoring. On-course kiosks at holes 1, 6 and 14 serve up welcomed cold drinks to thirsty golfers. Facilities include a large driving range, luxurious changing rooms, a well-stocked pro shop and a restaurant serving Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and Western food.
