Opened in 2018, Stone Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole, Brian Curley designed course, situated in Ha Nam province, around an hour south of the Vietnamese capital Hanoi. The major attraction of the course are the stunning views over inland lakes, that are reminiscent of Halong Bay. Many feature films, including King Kong, have been shot in this area of stunning natural beauty. The Truong An Group who developed the course have future plans to add a second golf course, as well as a residential precinct to the 200-hectare site. The front nine weave their way through a flat, broad valley, while the back nine climbs into steep ridges and offers the most dramatic views on the course. Cleverly, the course builds to a crescendo, with the four final holes playing from the highest elevations, with views across the valleys and mountains. The large, modern clubhouse appears to have been inspired by The Whitehouse. It sits boldly overlooking the front nine and really stamps its authority on the surrounding landscape. Facilities at Stone Valley include luxurious locker rooms, a restaurant serving delicious Vietnamese food and a great caddie service, although limited English is spoken. Stone Valley is a course that golfers of all level will enjoy playing. It is worth including on any Hanoi golf itinerary, if for the views alone!
